We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented VP of Payer Solutions, to lead new business development efforts for our innovative medication management program and SaaS solutions. This role is critical to driving revenue growth and expanding our market presence with health plans and payers. The ideal candidate is a strategic sales leader with a track record of identifying, pursuing, and closing high-value partnerships in the healthcare or pharmaceutical sectors.

Location: Remote

Salary: starting at $165k + bonus and incentives

Travel: 50% +

Reports To: SVP, Diversified Services Sales

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive payer and health plan focused business development by identifying, pursuing, and securing new partnerships to expand the reach of our medication management programs.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand market presence and increase SaaS product adoption.
  • Cultivate high-level relationships with payer executives, demonstrating our solutions' ability to improve medication adherence and STAR/HEDIS performance.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends and opportunities that address payer pain points and highlight ROI.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, clinical, product, and operations) to tailor solutions and ensure successful implementation.
  • Negotiate and close complex contracts that align with company growth objectives.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and adjust sales strategies to maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Ensure all interactions with payers are compliant with relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Must adhere to Clarest’s Code of Conduct, follow Clarest Compliance policies and procedures, and report any suspected violations of any federal or state laws to either their direct supervisor, Human Resources or the Compliance Officer

 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years in payer sales, business development, or account management within pharmacy, PBM, or MTM services.
  • Direct experience selling MTM programs or pharmacy-driven quality improvement services to health plans or payers.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, healthcare administration, or related field
  • Demonstrated success securing multi-million dollar payer or health plan contracts.
  • Expertise in Medicare Part D, STAR ratings, HEDIS measures, and value-based care models.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively.
  • In-depth knowledge of medication management programs

 

Skills + Abilities:

  • Familiarity with SaaS healthcare technology platforms supporting medication management.
  • Strong analytical mindset; able to use data to drive payer engagement and outcomes-based selling.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles, from prospecting to contract execution.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50%+.
